How I shot this #3
In this series, I choose one shot and share the details behind the photograph. When and how I made it, and what the story behind it is.
Location and time
I was on my way to catch my flight from Paris to Budapest. I thought I was in time, but the security queue was so long that I had to hurry to my gate. I thought I had to be there in minutes. But, as I'm sure this happened to almost everyone at some airports, the flight was delayed. First, 30 minutes. Not a big deal, grab a coffee and some food. I was enjoying my coffee when I saw my phone's notification pop up. This was from Air France, the delay was more than an hour...
What to do
Ok, I won't be sitting here doing nothing. I grabbed my camera and started to go around the area. The light was great, but because of the crowd, I couldn't find any shots. Ok, let's check the aisle. This was the best idea, almost no people. And as I walked a few meters, I looked right I saw the great pattern and light, and at the same time noticed the polished floor that reflected the pattern perfectly.
The foot traffic was very low, I sat on the floor, adjusted my settings and waited for a few minutes. Only a couple of minutes later, I saw someone approaching my perfect location. I was ready and grabbed a few shots as she walked by.
I didn't have the time to check the shots as the guards approached me. I thought, ok, I must delete everything. But they were very friendly, asked me what I do, and as I explained them, showed them the shots, they smiled and wished me great shots!
